A: No, your pledge and payment method are not directly linked together. You will need to fulfill your pledge with payments through one of our methods of giving. If you are already using Faith Direct or your bank’s Online Bill Pay, you will need to update it for your new pledge amount.
A: We recommend that you review and update your Faith Direct account after you make your pledge. You can update your recurring gift amount and verify that your preferred bank account or credit card is being used.
A: Unexpected events happen that change a family’s financial situation. Pledges are not legal obligations. Therefore, if you need to change or cancel your pledge, contact the parish office and notify us of the change (contact the Accounting Dept.). Furthermore, should you find yourself needing assistance, we may be able to connect you with support resources. If you give online, you must stop/change your automatic payments in your Faith Direct account. Parish staff does not have access to your Faith Direct account.
A: Unexpected things can happen and moving is one of them. Pledges are not legal obligations. Therefore, if you plan to move and want to change or cancel the fulfillment of your pledge, it helps us with our remaining year budget if you contact the parish office to notify us of the change (contact Accounting). We can also update our parish membership database at that time as well. If you give online, you will need to stop/change your automatic payments in your Faith Direct account. Parish staff does not have access to your Faith Direct account.
A: Pledging is helpful because it allows the parish to make budget decisions based on a more accurate estimate of incoming revenue. Your pledge matters and we encourage you to pledge even if you are already giving regularly. However, we are grateful for all gifts – whether you pledged or not!
A: Giving is indeed very personal, and scripture does tell us to give generously so the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Christian giving should not be about making a show or gaining social approval of others. The request for a pledge is not meant to replace the prayerful conversation one has with God about sharing their gifts. However, after you prayerfully consider your gift with God, communicating that gift through a pledge allows the parish to budget and plan. This is being a good steward. Pledges are confidential and not for gaining some external human approval or social status.
