The Columbiettes are teaming up with the Pro-Life Ministry to celebrate Motherhood by supporting Bella House. We will be collecting items for the Mothers that Bella House serves. Fr. Don was able to visit an assisted living center after not being allowed in for a year due to the pandemic. The residents were thrilled to see him. Pictured is one of the residence, Clovis, who was glowing after the visit and receiving Eucharist. Let us continue to pray for those who are isolated and not yet able to receive visitors, and also in gratitude that we are able to receive Eucharist.
Recently, St. Gabriel worked in conjunction with The Underground to help liberate a young sex trafficking victim. The Underground is a Connecticut faith-based organization aimed at eradicating human trafficking in all forms through awareness events. As a way of celebrating the feast of St. Joseph, we are inviting parishioners to write small notes of thanks and encouragement to adoptive and foster parents in our parish. A collection basket is in front of the Welcome desk in the Bishop Kelley Center from March until March 19th.
St Gabriel parishioners showed up in a big way on super bowl Sunday to donate blood and save lives. We had 60 donors sign up, with almost 100% honoring their appointments. Carter BloodCare collected a record-breaking 53 units of blood and appreciated the friendliness of our community.

Jim and Mary Johnsrud, members of St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, pose at their home. Jim Johnsrud suffers from a rare liver disease but because of its degree is only eligible for a living organ donor transplant, but circumstances surrounding COVID-19 have made such matches more difficult than in years past.

I was blessed to come to St. Gabriel’s for my pastoral year in September 2017 and I was there until May of 2018. I spent the year under the supervision of Fr. Don; He and Fr. Charles taught me so much while I was there at the parish.
