January 5, 2021It has been going strong for 10 years now. The leaders, Clay and Lisa Jones, frequently get calls about "how do you do this?" or "how can you assist us in setting this up?"
Two former core team couples have taken the ministry to two other states/parishes - one in New York and one in Missouri. At the end of last year, another former parishioner contacted Lisa because she had taken a parish manager job with St. Vincent de Paul in Bentonville Arkansas. She used to attend our date nights with her husband. She and her staff want to bring the ministry to their parish. They are awaiting final approval from the pastor and bishop, and Clay and Lisa have been asked to travel there for Valentine's weekend and be their guest speakers for their kick-off!
This shows how a mango seed planted at St. Gabriel travels not only within the Diocese (attendees to our date nights or retreats, from other parishes, can wind up becoming members too) but also nationwide as well. To God be the Glory!
