A reading from the Gospel according to Mark 5:21-43: After crossing the lake and calming the storm, a crowd formed around Jesus on the other side. A man named Jairus came to Jesus and said that his daughter was very sick and about to die. He asked Jesus to come visit her and heal her. On the way, a woman who was ill for many many years came to Jesus and touched his clothing. She was instantly healed! Jesus told her that she was healed because she believed in him. When Jesus got to Jairus's home, everyone was sad and he was told that the daughter had died. Jesus told everyone that it was ok, that the girl was just sleeping! Many people did not believe Jesus. However, Jesus went in and touched the girl, bringing her back to life and healing her.
In this Gospel, we learn about how all things are possible with Jesus! We hear 2 stories where people who were very sick were healed. In fact, Jesus brought the young girl back to life! Both of these stories show Jesus' miracles. Even when it was hard, Jesus continued to help people. Jesus wants us to believe in him as he will help us even when things are hard for us too! Jesus is all powerful as he is God and he can ALWAYS help you! Jesus is telling us that he wants us to place our trust in him whenever anything is hard or makes us sad in life!
