Purpose: To teach adults an Ignatian spirituality prayer method that includes meditation, contemplation, and a consciousness examen.
Be Prayerful - Be Formed
Part 1: Praying Christian Virtues: Deepen the prayer life and discover what to do for dryness and obstacles in prayer. Introduction to the different methods of Ignatian prayer: meditation, contemplation, and Consciousness Examen. A small group meets for 12 weeks to pray and faith share.
Part 2: My 19th Annotation: Experience praying the full Ignatian Exercises which St. Ignatius wrote for those who live and work and are unable to withdraw to a silent retreat. A small group meets for 27 weeks to share faith experiences in a quiet, respectful way.
Part 3: Discernment and Gifts of the Spirit: general theological catechesis of the Holy Spirit with emphasis on the gifts of the Holy Spirit; and introduction to St. Ignatius’ Rules of Discernment. Small groups meet for 14 weeks to pray and faith share and commit to daily prayer of 45-60 minutes on given scriptures.
All Parts must be completed in succession.
