Purpose: The St. Gabriel’s Food Shuttle Ministry provides a daily food rescue and delivery service for the needy of McKinney.
RESPOND: Be Serving and Caring
To accomplish this mission, our team provides an organizational structure to pick up food at grocery stores, restaurants, and other locations for various community groups, including The Samaritan Inn, Old Settler’s Recreation Center (after-school and summer programs), the McKinney Senior Recreation Center (a congregate meal site for Meals on Wheels serving seniors on a fixed income), the Community Lifeline Center, the Community Garden Kitchen, the Community Food Pantry of McKinney, and the McKinney Little Free Pantry.
Thanks to our dedicated drivers, St. Gabriel’s Food Shuttle has collected and distributed tons of food to the needy since 1998.

What it takes to drive:
- Give one hour per week
- a vehicle (it does not have to be a large SUV),
- a driver’s license and safe driving skills,
- a little instruction about food care,
- a willingness to help provide a steady stream of food to those in need, including after-school snacks, meat, produce, dairy, baked goods, and other non-perishable items.
You will be rewarded with each smile at each delivery! Join us!
