May TFF Lesson

Lesson:  During spring, we see flowers blooming, the weather becomes warmer, the trees are growing new leaves and everything is turning green.  Just like all of those things grow, we grow too!  ( Ask your child to stand up and show you how big s/he is now.)

God is watching you grow big.  Each of us has a heart that loves all of those around us.  As we love our parents, sisters, teachers, and friends our hearts will grow bigger too. 

God takes care of us just like we take care of others like our baby sister, our pets or the flowers in our garden.  He gives us everything that we have - blessings - and helps us grow when we pray to him, go to mass to visit him, do nice things for others, and share.

God loves us and wants us to be loving and caring people.  What does your mom or dad do when ou get hurt?  Do they give them a hug and kiss to make them feel better?  Do they give you a bandage?  God wants us to take care of people like our mom takes care of us.  

Ask your child:

1. What do you see growing around you? (flowers, grass, trees, animals, etc.)
2. How can you grow closer to God? (pray, share your toys, etc.)

Craft Week 1:  Make flowers out of egg cartons.  Cut the bumpy part of the egg carton into individual pieces, each egg holder being a separate flower.  Paint the section the color of a flower.  Poke a hole in the bottom of the section and thread a pipe cleaner through it. Viola!  A flower!
