May 9 CLW Lesson

A reading from the Gospel according to John  15:9-17:  Jesus said to his disciples: "As the Father loves me, so I also love you.  This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.  No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends."

Jesus is telling  his disciples that he considers them friends because they are his followers and that he will lay down his life for them.  He tells the disciples that the greatest commandment is to love one another.
