A reading from the book of John 2:13-25: Jesus went to Jerusalem and found people selling animals in the temple where Jewish people worshipped and people exchanging money there. He saw people doing things that were wrong to do in the temple - they were using the temple like a store and not respecting God. Jesus drove the money-changers and the animals out of the temple, over turning the tables. He then tells the the Jewish people that if they knock the temple down, he can rebuild it in 3 days. The people don't realize that Jesus is talking about his own body and how he will die and then rise again 3 days later.
In this reading Jesus makes the point that it is important to keep God's house holy.
