Youth Grades 9-12

Who is this Preparation for:

Youth in grades 9-12 (fall) who are:

• Unbaptized and interested in an environment to safely explore the Catholic faith. 
• Christian youth baptized in another tradition exploring the decision to become Catholic.
• Baptized as a Catholic and now seeking to complete initiation into the Catholic faith and prepare to celebrate the sacraments of Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation.

About the Process:

Our Youth Ministry team will accompany each youth through a journey of exploring the Catholic faith and the decision to be initiated into the Church.
The process includes:

• Conversations with parents and or teens about the openness to explore the Catholic Faith
• Participation in our Christian Initiation preparation process (Sundays from Sept- Easter)
• Youth are also encouraged to participate in key High School ministry programs to form same-age Christian community and explore key teachings of Jesus (Youth Nights/ Retreats)
• Guidance in the decision process to become Catholic
• A journey through the whole process may guide an individual to enter the Catholic Church at the Easter vigil Mass in the spring 

• Collection of the necessary information for the church's sacramental record-keeping

The journey of Becoming Catholic for Youth is also called the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults adapted for Youth, or OCIA for Youth.
