Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)

Who is this Preparation for:

Baptized and unbaptized adults who are interested exploring the Catholic faith and possibly becoming Catholic. 

About the Process:

Our team will accompany you through a journey of exploring the Catholic faith and the decision to be initiated into the Church. The process includes:

• Participation in exploratory inquiry sessions that offer an opportunity to consider and explore the main teachings of the Catholic faith, one's relationship with God, and what it means to become Catholic.  We create a non-judgmental and accepting environment to safely ask questions and interact with the presenters, fellow participants, and other members of our community.
• Invitation to consider additional learning sessions and ceremonial rites to mark the movement of deepening openness. 
• Guidance in the decision process to become Catholic.
• A journey through the whole process may guide an individual to enter the Catholic Church at the Easter vigil Mass in the spring.
• Collection of the necessary information for the church's sacramental record-keeping

While OCIA sessions start in the fall of each year, individuals who are interested in becoming Catholic can complete the inquiry form at any time to learn more and discuss how to begin. Our sessions typically take place Sunday mornings at 10:30 am.
