The St. Gabriel Outreach Ministry strives to reach out to others with the gifts that God has entrusted to us. We hope to be the hands and feet of Jesus and minister to thise in need of spiritual and intellectual growth, the sick, the imprisoned and those who need the basic necessities of food, clothing, shelter and the bond of fellowship.
Volunteers in the various Outreach Ministries give of their time and talent. We tutor, mentor, run errands, visit and minister to the sick and imprisoned, and run blood drives. We provide food, clothing, furniture and housing assistance for the needy. We pray for the unborn, assist mothers in crisis and seek to educate our parish on church teachings in social justice.
Outreach Ministries also include reaching out to people in need of emotional support. The Ministry of Consolation and the Separated/Divorced Ministry allow St. Gabriel's to reach out in this manner.
No special skills are required, only a kind heart.
Time will vary on a project by project basis. Volunteers decide how much time they spend. Generally, time commitments will not exceed one to two hours in any week.
