The realization of the American Dream of home ownership for Habitat families would not be possible without the generous contributions of many dedicated people in the community. The houses are sold to partner families at no profit and are financed with affordable no-interest mortgages. Volunteers as well as Habitat homeowners invest hundreds of hours of labor, called “sweat equity,” into building their own homes and those of others in the program. Your time, talent and treasure are all important to this St. Gabriel Habitat for Humanity ministry.
North Collin County Habitat for Humanity started in 1992 as McKinney Habitat for Humanity, an affiliate of Habitat International. In 2002, scope expanded to include North Collin County, so the name was changed to North Collin County Habitat for Humanity, Inc. www.ncc-habitat.com The affiliate currently builds homes in McKinney, Frisco, Celina, Princeton and Melissa and also serves Prosper, Anna, Farmersville, Weston and unincorporated areas in the Northern County. Celeste Haiduk Faro is the Executive Director.
St. Gabriel Habitat needs many dedicated people to organize and coordinate projects. In addition to helping to build the houses, other volunteer opportunities include organizing/coordinating fund raising; coordinating volunteers; and organizing/scheduling food for volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering in any of the above areas, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
All volunteers are required to attend an Orientation session. The sessions are held at the North Collin County Habitat for Humanity office at 701 S. Tennessee St., McKinney, Texas 75069 and last about 1 hour. All volunteers must also have an insurance waiver on file. If you have attended an Orientation session in the past you do not need to attend another; however, you will need to sign a new waiver form each year. Andrea Tabor is the Volunteer Coordinator for NCC-Habitat email@example.com and her office phone is 972-542-5300 x 103.
